Manor OS is a home energy audit app for iPhone, published by Manor OS (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at omer@manoros.com.
The information below is stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage. We never receive a copy.
We do not require you to create an account, and the app does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact details.
Nothing. Manor OS does not send your audit data, photos, measurements, or location to us or to any third party for analytics, advertising, profiling, or tracking. The only data that leaves your device for a third party is the ZIP code and API key used for the optional rate plan lookup described below. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting software. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and the in-app disclosures before the change takes effect.
You can change any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Manor OS.
When you type a home address, search for an address, use your current location to find your address, or view a map, the app uses Apple’s Maps and Core Location services (address suggestions, geocoding, and map display). Your search text or coordinates are sent to Apple to return results. That exchange is between your device and Apple and is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. Manor OS does not receive or keep that information on any server.
When you tap Compare on the Rate Plans screen, the app sends the ZIP code you enter (prefilled from your home address) and your own OpenEI API key to the OpenEI Utility Rate Database (api.openei.org), a public database of utility tariffs run for the U.S. Department of Energy. It returns the residential rate plans for that area, and the app prices your usage on each plan on your device. No other information is sent. Nothing is sent unless you tap Compare, and the feature only works after you add your own free API key. OpenEI’s handling of that request is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
Rebate and grid program cards link to utility and government websites. Tapping a link opens it in your browser; the app does not send any of your data with the link.
Manor OS does not share your data on its own. If you export a report or PDF, or use the share button, the file or text is handed to the iOS share sheet and goes only where you choose to send it (for example Messages, Mail, Files, or AirDrop). What happens to it after that is governed by the app or person you send it to.
Manor OS does not sync your data through iCloud or any server of ours. Like other apps, its data may be included in your device backups (such as an iCloud or computer backup) if you have those turned on in iOS. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple.
Because we do not hold your data, there is nothing on our side to access, correct, or delete. If you have a privacy question or request, email us and we will respond.
Manor OS is a general-audience utility for homeowners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your data stays within the app’s sandbox on your device and is protected by the security features of iOS, including your device passcode. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so we recommend keeping your device locked and updated.
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will also tell you in the app.
